This season, he has showcased his talent on hard courts, having won two indoor Challenger titles, but his record on clay is slightly less convincing, standing at 15-12. Just last week in Båstad, he was swiftly ousted by Tirante, unable to keep up with the pace (3-6, 4-6). So, despite enjoying home advantage against Molčan, he is rightfully considered the underdog.

Their head-to-head record stands at 1-1, with their most recent encounter, before the injury occurred in 2023, tipping in favor of the Slovakian, who emerged victorious on these very Kitzbühel courts against the local player (2-1).
